The way I understand it, si looks like it is used to clarify the ambiguity that can happen when using third person pronouns. "Adam likes his house" can refer to two different people (one of whom likes the other's house) and would be "Adamo ŝatas lian domon", or refer to one person (who likes his own house) and would be "Adamo ŝatas sian domon". | |
